Lisa Lane

Lisa's experience with tap dance predates her birth. Her Mom, Gloria, was a professional dancer in NYC, danced at Radio City Music Hall with the June Taylor Dancers, and toured in a vaudeville show before "settling down" to raise her family.

Lisa's first dance teacher was her Mom, but upon moving to Maine, Gloria enrolled her daughter in ballet classes at Polly Thomas School of Dance in Bangor. In the 1970's Lisa helped to form the dance company at the University of Maine. One of the first dance faculty was Teresa Torkanowsky. Many top notch dance companies visited UMO to do residencies during the '70's...such as Arthur Hall African Dance from Philadelphia, Gus Giordano Jazz and Pilobolus. Lisa had the benefit of participating in these residencies.

Her love of percussive dance led her to the Leon Collins Dance Studio where she studied tap with Leon himself, Pam Raff, CB Hetherington, and Dianne Walker. Lisa also studied at the Joy of Movement Center which allowed her to experience workshops with many notable tappers including Savion Glover, Gregory Hines, Jimmy Slide and the late great Nicholas Brothers.

Lisa considers herself immensely fortunate to have stumbled upon RDC and joined the staff in 2013.When not hoofing it up, Lisa runs a B&B with her husband and is mom to a huge pack of dogs (some of whom have performed in RDC shows).
